She had just stepped into another city. How many cities are here? She had thought to herself. Well, it was a big area....there could be at least a few towns where she was. Her footsteps were light upon the beaten paths. A faint look in her eye stated her worries. Where would she sleep at night? She didn't have much money now. She needed to get a job-that to do list just kept getting longer didn't it? Of course it did. Her katanas moved along with her hips forcing her to hold their handles. Hopefully she wouldn't be kicked out of this city because of them. Not many were kin to the samurai.
For a moment she stumbled. A stone? Almost collapsing, she fell harshly to the ground. Upon her foot's examination she came across a glass piece lodged in the sole of her foot. The pain was nauseating, but not unbearable. Her fingers attempted to remove the glass, but failed. There was one more thing she could do before trying to find a doctor. Her mouth. Back in her days of training, she learned how to suck objects buried deep beneath the skin. At first she looked to see if any were watching. The passers by seemed to be minding their own---for the most part. Her hands held her foot still----wait! That was all she needed for the small chunk to come out. Now for the blood to stop. Her mind thought fast and found one of her excess ribbons--which she used as a tourniquet.
With slow motions she stood. The positioning of the glass was horrible. At the least she could hobble for now. Her eyes darted around for something to lean on. She was not too far from a building--which she used to prop herself up for the time being. Atari had been through worse--much worse. But for some reason she was weak here. A grunt escaped her. Was there something on the glass? She could not tell.....
